Plastic materials such as PE and PVC are known for their flexibility and resistance to wear and tear, environmental conditions and corrosion. However, the main drawback of these materials is that leaks cannot be detected as easily as they can on metal pipes. This is because metal pipes will conduct sound over long distances, whereas plastic will absorb sound waves: leaks will be virtually “silent” to conventional leak detection tools.
To overcome this problem, EIE has designed the IN PIPE insertion clamp, a handy network access device that can quickly and easily accommodate a range of leak pre-location and location solutions to accurately detect leaks in plastic pipes.
The IN PIPE clamp is a multi-application network access device designed to be easy to use. As well as acoustic probes, it can accommodate other types of probes to inspect pipes for additional measurements (water quality, chlorine content, etc.). Its mechanically-welded steel structure and ACS-certified epoxy coating make it highly resistant to corrosion, as well as to variations and stresses in the ground. Suitable for pipes with diameters ranging from 63 to 200 mm and capable of withstanding pressures of up to PN16, the IN PIPE clamp has been designed with operators’ day-to-day needs in mind: the system can be installed directly under pressure without interrupting the water supply to customers, and is easy to install thanks to a mechanical tightening stop that provides a tight seal without compromising the integrity of the pipes.

The innovative feature of the IN PIPE clamp is its V-shaped design, with a 45° angle designed to guide the probes naturally and effortlessly inside the pipe, without causing friction or the risk of blockages during insertion. The device is available in two versions to suit every network configuration, whether secondary pipes or main lines.
The IN PIPE insertion clamp can be used to effectively target vulnerable areas of the network for faster maintenance work. Both versions are fully-fledged “all-in-one” diagnostic stations; the dual-inlet version offers the possibility of carrying out a double check (pre-locating and pinpointing) in a single operation without changing the access point!
Quick and easy to install, the IN PIPE insertion clamp gives operators the ability to create network access points in large or hard-to-reach areas that often lack the hydraulic systems that make monitoring easier (motorways, rivers, industrial areas, etc.)

The flexibility of the IN PIPE clamp makes it a powerful tool for dealing with network disruptions. In addition to detecting leaks, the clamp can be equipped with pressure sensors, temperature probes, and water quality analysis tools. By using the IN PIPE clamp with products from the Claire Group ecosystem, you can create a fully-fledged “all-in-one” exploration and diagnostic station for your network!
Its dual-inlet version gives operators the option of pairing BiDi loggers (acoustic or hydrophone versions depending on site requirements) to pre-locate the leak with a PIPEMIC probe, which will enable the leak to be pinpointed with a high degree of accuracy. This comprehensive solution gives you coverage of up to 600 metres from this single access point!
To give operators the best possible support during on-site operations, all technical information and installation guides are accessible at the click of a button via the Claire app.

To sum up, the aim of the IN PIPE clamp is crystal clear: to make the operator’s job easier by saving time, increasing efficiency and drastically reducing excavation costs.
